Research :

  • Study of prominence of greater tuberosity and association with cuff tear. In this study we found there is no correlation between cuff tear and prominence of greater tuberosity. University Hospital of North Tees and Hartlepool. 2015.
  • Study of delayed distal biceps rupture with semitendinosis graft. Case series of 6 delayed biceps reconstruction using ST graft and calculating biceps strength with Biodex machine.  University Hospital of North Tees and Hartlepool. 2015.
  • Hypothermia and venous lactate as prognostic indicator in patients with neck of femur fracture. We found positive correlation between high lactate level and mortality and negative correlation between body temperature and mortality in neck of femur fracture patients.   • The influence of obesity on presentation and outcome of Cauda Equina Syndrome. Leicester royal infirmary, M Venkatesan, S Balasubramanian, J Braybrooke, M Newey. 2011.
  • Relation of saphenous nerve branches to the medial patellofemoral ligament (MPFL) - Cadaveric Study, R Dharmarajan, S Balasubramanian, S Godsiff, Leicester General Hospital, Leicester. (2005) In this cadaveric study we dissected 10 lower limbs to see the relationship of the saphenous nerve branch to the MPFL.
  • Anomalies of Brachial Plexus in Axilla & arm– Cadaveric study, S Balasubramanian, Nitin Rao, Abinav Gulihar, University of Leicester, UK. (2005).  30 limbs were dissected to record the anomalies of the brachial plexus in arm. 
  • The distance between the acromion and axillary nerve depends on the length of the arm: A cadaveric study. We found there was association between limb length and distance between acromion and axillary nerve. The distance is shorter when the arm in abduction than in adduction.   • Analysis of various surgical methods in the management of subtrochanteric fractures of femur. S Balasubramanian, Prof N Saichandran.
