Clinical and Endoscopy Experience

Have seen 32000  new Gastroenterology patients in OPD in last approximately 20 years since my return to India in 1996 with a detailed data base of all these patients. This includes patients not only from India but also a good number of International patients. Average number of new and follow up patients seen in clinic have been approximately 400 to 500 per month.

Have looked after various Gastrointestinal Emergencies referred to tertiary care centre including GI bleeds, Acute Pancreatitis and Hepatic encephalopathy etc. Have been routinely involved in care of Gastro-intestinal and Hepatology indoor patients.

Have been actively involved in Liver Transplant Program.

Have rich experience in both diagnostic and therapeutic UGI Endoscopy, Colonoscopy, ERCP,etc. I have been performing approximately 1500-2000 diagnostic and therapeutic Endoscopy procedures per year. I have also been trained for Fibroscan of liver . I have been Department and Endoscopy Coordinator for many years.

Conducting international multicenter research trial ‘ A multicenter, Prospective, Observational, Non Interventional Cohort Study Evaluating on – Treatment Predictors of response in subjects with HBeAg positive or HBeAg negative Chronic Hepatitis B receiving Therapy with Pegasys(Peginterferon alfa 2a 40 KD) sponsored by Roche.

Participating in national multicentre study ‘Alcoholic Liver Disease – Evidence Development Program’ to study liver disease in India by Indigene Lifesystems Ltd.

  • Have been teaching DNB ( Gastro) students over last 8 years at Apollo hospital Delhi since  the start of DNB Program.
  • Have trained both national and international students in diagnostic and therapeutic Endoscopic procedures.
  • Have been teaching both under-graduate and post graduate students since 1981.
