With over Three decades of experience, Dr. Pratap Chandra Rath is one of the Best cardiologists in Hyderabad and across the country. He is currently serving as President of the Cardiology Society of India & in past has served as President of Indian college of Cardiology and Chairman of Interventional Council of Cardiological society of India. Utilizing the best interventional techniques and advanced Imaging like OCT and Intravascular Ultrasound and the latest atherectomy devices such as Orbital Atherectomy, Rotablation, Laser, and Intravascular Lithotripsy, Dr. P C Rath aims to provide the best treatment for all arterial blockages, including chronic total occlusions i.e. CTOs (100% Blockage). He guides interventions with remarkable accuracy, optimizing patient outcomes while minimizing risks and recovery times.
Dr. Rath has performed more than 100,000 angiograms, 50,000 complex angioplasties, and over 2,000 cases of peripheral, renal, and carotid interventions, including ASD and PA closures. To his credit, He also has Largest series of Balloon Mitral Valvuloplasty. He also has many International and National Scientific publications to his credit.
Dr. Rath was Trained by the pioneer and father of TAVI, Dr. Alain Cribier & then By staying at the forefront of TAVI advancements and techniques, Dr. Rath was the first to perform TAVI procedures in both Andhra Pradesh and Telangana in April 2016. By Now Dr Rath & his team have completed over 100 TAVI procedures. TAVI is a revolutionary procedure for patients with severe aortic stenosis who are at high risk for traditional open-heart surgery. This innovative approach offers a less invasive alternative to surgery, resulting in shorter hospital stays, quicker recovery times, and improved outcomes for high-risk elderly patients. Dr Rath also organizes one yearly Scientific meeting on TAVI procedures called Hyderabad Valves where Doctors from around the world participate and share the knowledge by showcasing case demonstrations.
Dr. Rath has many Firsts to his name. He was the first to perform Transradial Coronary Angioplasty and stenting in the Asia Pacific region in 1994 (published in the Indian Heart Journal and reported in the Limca Book of World Records) and the first to perform venous graft intervention using a protection device in India (published in the Indian Heart Journal). He was also the first to use drug-eluting stents in the Asia Pacific region.

Developed Mitral commissurotome along with Prof. Alain Cribier and performed first 7 cases of mitral dilatation in the world using Metallic Commissurotome
Largest series of Balloon Mitral Valvuloplasty in the world using Bifoil balloon catheter (published in Journal of Cardiovascular diagnosis).
First time performed Trans Radial Coronary Angioplasty and stenting in Asia Pacific region in ’94 ( Published in Indian Heart Journal also reported in the Limca book of world records).
